Fedipub
Fedipub is an engine that brings ActivityPub to Ruby on Rails applications.
Status
Fedipub is running in live production applications right now; it supports a basic subset of ActivityPub features, and is still changing internally, but it does work! You can:
- Discover actors via Webfinger
- Follow actors on other servers, and also be followed
- Send and receive activities about any type of object, including Notes
- Announce / boost activities
There’s a lot more to come though. We aim to:
- implement all the parts of the (RFC) labelled with MUST and MUST NOT
- implement some or all the parts of the RFC labelled with SHOULD and SHOULD NOT
- maybe implement the parts of the RFC labelled with MAY
- support many common FEPs
Currently Fedipub is bound to Rails; however, in the near future we will be making the Rails-specific parts optional, and explicitly supporting other frameworks, or just pure Ruby.
Supported Ruby / Rails versions
- Ruby: 3.3, 3.4 and 4.0
- Rails: 7.2, 8.0 and 8.1

Extensions
As well as the core gem, other features are available in extensions:
- fedipub-moderation: Trust & Safety for Fedipub; reporting posts, blocking domains, and more to come.
